Yep, all good nerds have an Amateur Radio license. I have a General class license. Ever since my I was introduced to ham radio by my father when I was a kid, I've been interested in the hobby. Although I do not have a shack with a load of radio's, I have a small Yaesu VX-5R and a 25/60 watt Kenwood TM-271A in my truck. The HT  is a really cool handheld radio that operates on 6M, 2M and 440. I've also made the modifications to it so I can use it on the aircraft frequencies when I am flying and also on Family Service and GMRS frequencies.

My next goal is to try to find a rig and antenna setup that will allow me to operate while camping and talk from Ohio to any state east of the Mississippi.
