Takasago Nile Panic Slot Machine

When I was 10 or 12 years old, my dad had me go to one of his friends house and work in his yard to make some extra cash. Mr. Dolson had an old mechanical slot machine that took nickels. When we were on breaks from mowing the lawn, building the sauna, working on the garden, or what ever else needed to be done, we would play on the slot machine using his nickels. Anyway, after that I've wanted a slot machine.

In February of 2002, I went to the Slot Machine Outlet in Columbus, Ohio and saw a cool one for $495. Its not an American slot machine, but a Japanese one. The only differences are that some of the words are in Japanese and the machine does not pay out a bonus like the US slot machines do when you get three gold bars or whatever. Instead, it lets you play for free for 1 to 15 spins and guarantees each spin you will win something. Also, instead of automatically stopping, you get to press buttons to make it stop. This makes it a little more fun because its more interactive.

I understand pretty much how everything works, which is good because there is no real manual (just a simple instruction book some average Joe wrote to hand out with the machines). I'm in the process of having all the Japanese writing translated so I understand how this machine works. As I figure this stuff out, including troubleshooting, I'll post that info here. My goal is to eventually understand everything about the machine so I can fix whatever goes wrong AND change the voice chips to say and play whatever I want them to.
